It was a fun couple of days. Matt and I still need to get in costume again to take pictures. We dressed up for the ward trunk or treat. I was in charge of said event and in the chaos didn't get pictures taken of us.

Can you tell me how you made your apple dumplin' costume? My family is going to be characters from strawberry shortcake this year and I really want the baby to be apple dumplin.
@Stephanie-I bought the yellow onesie from a local thrift store (it had an applique on it that I picked off). I free-handed the apple and used wonder under to iron it on (and sewed around it). For the hat, I cut out a big circle of yellow fabric (I used a thrifted t-shirt), used a green Sharpie for the dots on the hat and sewed elastic around the circle. For the socks, I used a pair of my older daughter's socks and used masking tape and fabric spray paint. Which if I had to do again, I might search harder for striped tights. I found them for my 6 year old, just not for the baby. Good job being so on top of things already! Good luck!
Thanks! Oh my goodness I love Halloween so much, and my son is 8 so this is probably the last year for us to all be something together. I did manage to find green and white striped baby legs for the baby, so that should work pretty well.

At the risk of seeming like a nut, I thought I would check and see if you #1) still have the apple dumplin' costume and #2) would be willing to sell it to me? My 2 year old is going to be Strawberry Shortcake, and I've been searching for an apple dumplin' costume for my 8 month old and I'm having the hardest time. In fact, that's how I came across your blog - I googled apple dumplin' costumes and found this. It's darling! If I had a crafty bone in my body then I would follow your instructions and make one, but I'm just not that talented. It would be a mess.
I'm in the Boise area, so IF you have the costume still and IF you are willing to sell it, I would pay to have it shipped to me.

I always make my son's costumes and he uses a wheelchair so I take the opportunity to make a wheelchair costume as well. Last night, Caleb says he wants to be "Dry Bones" for halloween and he wants his wheelchair to look like a motorcycle (from MarioKart). Anyway, obviously there is no "dry bones" costume but I stumbled upon your blog. How did you make the costume? Materials used? Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
